Today’s Reflection: Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect. — Oren Arnold

Today’s Reflection: Heavenly Father, you challenge me to love my enemies. I cannot love like this without your help. Unite me to your heart. Forgive me for labeling others an “enemy” simply out of disagreement or injured feelings. Expand my capacity for love and forgiveness. Grant me your compassion. Amen — Jesuit Prayer team

Today’s Reflection: Christ,
Coming closer to you
is saying yes to a stretch

Of who I think I can love
with this clumsy heart

Of who I think I can understand
with this limited mind

Of who I think I could befriend
with this small imagination

You stretch me inside
to push me outside
on mission –
To love and listen
To grow my world with your love.

Okay, but gently please, Amen. —Fr. Garrett Gundlach SJ

Today’s Reflection:  A Prayer to Heal Stress

Loving God, please grant me peace of mind and calm my troubled heart. My soul is like a turbulent sea. I can’t seem to find my balance so I stumble and worry constantly. Give me the strength and clarity of mind to find my purpose and walk the path you’ve laid out for me. I trust your Love God, and know that you will heal this stress. Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of night. Please bring me clarity with the light of God. In your name I pray. — Author Unknown

Today’s Reflection: It is not you who shapes God;
it is God who shapes you.
If then you are the handiwork of God
await the hand of the Artist
who does all things in due season.

Offer the pottery of your heart,
soft and tractable,
and keep well the form
in which the Artist has fashioned you.
Let your clay be moist,
lest you grow hard
and lose the imprint of the Potter’s fingers. —St. Irenaeus, in For You, O God: Prayers and Reflections

Today’s Reflection: When we leave from Mass, we should leave in the same way that Moses descended from Sinai, with his face shining and his heart emboldened to face the world’s difficulties. — St. Oscar Romero (Corpus Christi, 1979)
