Today’s Reflection: FAITH

We trust that beyond absence there is a presence.

That beyond pain there can be healing.

That beyond brokenness there can be wholeness.

That beyond anger there may be peace.

That beyond hurting there may be forgiveness.

That beyond silence there may be the Word. – Bodmin Hermit post

Today’s Reflection: Lord, may those who carry heavy hearts find peace and those who wander through the dark find light. May peace descend on every weary soul, like gentle rain on dry and thirsty ground. Grant stillness to the minds that cannot quiet, and calm hands that tremble in the night. May all who seek find refuge and be held in peace that passes all we understand. – Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.

Today’s Reflection: Dear God, Help me let go of what I cannot control, to accept others and myself with compassion, and to be a steady source of peace in a world that so deeply needs it. Amen. – Maria Shriver, I’ve Been Thinking

Today’s Reflection: If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not others. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers, than to carpet the whole of the earth. – Anthony De Mello, SJ

Today’s Reflection: Give us hearts

of forgiveness and peace,

Lord Jesus,

that we may open ourselves

to relationship and reconciliation,

rather than distrust and division,

seeing each other

as the neighbours we are,

one family in your love,

bearers of your image,

your grace,

your love. – Bill Braviner, Anglican Archbishop of Halifax, U.K

Today’s Reflection: Distance, Silence, Peace

Distance allows you to break free from the noise and limitations.

Silence helps you hear your deepest wisdom.

Peace gives you the clarity to move with purpose. – from a post by Bodmin Hermit

Today’s Reflection:  If we want peace, we have to be peace. Peace is a practice and not a hope. — Thich Nhat Hanh, Vietnamese Buddhist monk.

Today’s Reflection:

Saint Francis, our brother, you who eight hundred years ago
went to meet Sister Death as a man at peace,
intercede for us before the Lord.

You recognized true peace in the Crucifix of San Damiano,
teach us to seek in Him the source of all reconciliation
that breaks down every wall.

You, who unarmed, crossed the lines of war and misunderstanding, give us  the courage to build bridges where the world raises up boundaries.

In this time afflicted by conflict and division, intercede for us so that we may become peacemakers: unarmed and disarming witnesses  of the peace that comes from Jesus.—  Pope Leo’s A Prayer for the Jubilee Year of St. Francis
