Morning Offering: 05. 26. 22

Today’s Reflection: Remember:
When you leave this earth,
you can take with you
nothing that you have received
only what you have given:
a full heart,
enriched by honest service,
love, sacrifice, and courage. — St. Francis of Assisi.

Today’s Reflection: Thus we see that silence, which is so important in our growth in newness of life, is no negative barren condition, but the intense activity of creative love, the breath of God at work in the garden of the soul. — Estelle C. Carver, Newness of Life, 1956.

Today’s Reflection: O master, grant that I may not seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my soul. For it’s in giving that we receive, in pardoning that we are pardoned, and in dying that we are born to eternal life. — Excerpt of the Peace Prayer of St. Francis.

Today’s Reflection: Loving Father, May I trust Your provision and love through all circumstances, and as I trust myself to You may I have faith to believe that You will give me strength for what I may have to endure, and believe that You will care for me. Amen. — Author unknown.

Today’s Reflection: Eternity is not what happens at the end of time, after we are dead. Every time we love and forgive then we have put a foot into eternity, which is God’s life. And that is why we can be joyful even on Good Friday, even in the face of suffering and death. — Timothy Radcliffe OP, in Seven Last Words.

Today’s Reflection: Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
