Today’s Reflection: Love consists of sharing
what one has
and what one is
with those one loves.
Love ought to show itself in deeds
more than words. —St. Ignatius of Loyola

Today’s Reflection: Once a man was asked, ‘What did you gain by praying to God?’. The man replied, “Nothing, but let me tell you what I lost: Anger, ego, greed, depression, insecurity  and fear of death. Sometimes the answer to our prayers is not ‘gaining’, but ‘losing’, which ultimately is the gain.“ — Author unknown

Today’s Reflection:  Morning Prayer –

Lord, as I open my eyes this morning, I ask that you open my heart and mind to see the world as you do. Help me to see the beauty in the ordinary, the potential in every person, and the opportunity for your love in every situation. Grant me wisdom. Amen. — Bodmin Hermit

Today’s Reflection:  Healing

Lord, as I navigate the storms of life, I acknowledge the challenges and difficulties I face. I ask for your guidance and strength to help me weather these turbulent times. May you bring peace and calm to my heart, and may I find solace in your presence.  Bodmin Hermit, based on Psalm 107:29

Today’s Reflection:  A New Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity

to accept the people I cannot change,

which is pretty much everyone,

since I’m clearly not you, God.

At least not the last time I checked.

And while you’re at it, God,

please give me the courage

to change what I need to change about myself,

which is frankly a lot, since, once again,

I’m not you, which means I’m not perfect.

It’s better for me to focus on changing myself

than to worry about changing other people,

who, as you’ll no doubt remember me saying,

I can’t change anyway.

Finally, give me the wisdom to just shut up

whenever I think that I’m clearly smarter

than everyone else in the room,

that no one knows what they’re talking about except me,

or that I alone have all the answers.

Basically, God,

grant me the wisdom

to remember that I’m

not you. – Fr. James Martin SJ
