Today’s Reflection: Dear God, be with me as the days shorten and become cooler. Guide me into the quiet of the upcoming season by letting me listen now to the silence around me. Let me draw on that silence to find peace within. — from The Sacred Garden, Soil For The Growing Soul, by Patricia R. Barrett

Today’s Reflection:  Loving God, help me to slow down today, and spend time with you. Let me set aside the need to do more, and instead be present to you, and to those around me. Help me to choose the better part. Amen. — Jesuit prayer site

Today’s Reflection: It takes a long time to see reality through God’s eyes, the reality of the sanctity possible in ordinariness. Little things are the very essence of sanctity. It is of the essence…to connect little things with restoring the world to Christ. — Catherine Doherty

Today’s Reflection: Prayer

The fruit of silence is prayer,
the fruit of prayer is faith,
the fruit of faith is love,
the fruit of love is service,
and the fruit of service is peace. — St. Teresa of Calcutta

Today’s Reflection: Jesus,
Teach me to love everyone
Like you did.

When I struggle,
I ask for the courage
To pause,
To listen,
To feel,
To re-think,
And to change

Again and again.

Amen. — Katie Davis-Crowder

Today’s Reflection:  Litany of Peace

One     God, so many people are in pain.

All       Teach us the way to peace.

One     When people around us don’t agree and think differently,

All       Teach us to listen and try to understand.

One     When we see people getting hurt,

All       Teach us to speak up.

One     When we see people treated poorly because of their skin color, or language, or religious belief,

All       Teach us to be an example of love and acceptance.

One     When we see war and conflict,

All       Teach us how to make a difference and seek peace.

One     When we see pain,

All       Teach us to bring healing,

One     When we feel confused and afraid,

All       Remind us to talk to our friends, our family and to you.

One     In our lives, our neighborhoods and the world,

All       Teach us to pray and teach us the way of peace. – Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
