Saint Francis, our brother, you who eight hundred years ago went to meet Sister Death as a man at peace, intercede for us before the Lord.
You recognized true peace in the Crucifix of San Damiano, teach us to seek in Him the source of all reconciliation that breaks down every wall.
You, who unarmed, crossed the lines of war and misunderstanding, give us the courage to build bridges where the world raises up boundaries.
In this time afflicted by conflict and division, intercede for us so that we may become peacemakers: unarmed and disarming witnesses of the peace that comes from Jesus.— Pope Leo’s A Prayer for the Jubilee Year of St. Francis

Lord, remind us that life’s greatest treasures aren’t things, but moments: a shared laugh, a quiet sunrise, a hand held in kindness. Teach us to collect memories, not stuff; to choose wonder, not wealth. May our hearts be full, even when our shelves are not. — Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.

Loving God, Great One, I come to you each day in silly, simple prayer but I hardly know how to respond when you come to me. How could I? You, the very greatness for which I prepare my heart, come to me, without even my call or invite – by your own accord by your own desire and love for me. I am not worthy, but I know the whole reason why you’ve come is to convince me is to show me that I am. What can I say but amen?

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints; other times there was only one.
During the low periods of my life I could see only one set of footprints, so I said, “You promised me, Lord, that you would walk with me always. Why, when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
