Today’s Reflection: Speak words of hope.
Be human in this most inhuman of ages.
Guard the image of man for it is the image of God. — Thomas Merton

Today’s Reflection: Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love. —Attributed to Sir Francis Drake, c. 1577

Today’s Reflection: God of hope,
bring comfort to those who mourn
and work through us
so that we might
shine a light of hope
in the darkest of times.
Amen. — CAFOD/Catholic prayer resource

Today’s Reflection: Holy Saturday morning prayer — O Lord, On this day, the world was waiting, like a long winter hoping for spring, like a dry land awaiting rain. Still, quiet, in between a world hesitating, silent hope in a dark place. Lord, we give to you the times we have in own lives, where all we can do is wait, when all we hold is hope. We give you those times when all we have is faith in new life, new beginnings and heaven’s call. Be with all those who today wait in that cold, uncertain place. Hold them, keep them safe in your arms, resting in your promise of new life. Amen. — Catholic prayer site

Today’s Reflection: Lord,
I want to ask you “Please let me see,”
but for some reason the words stick a little in my throat.
I think a part of me fears what you want to show me.
Will it be more than my mind and heart are prepared to take in?
Will you throw me a curveball I didn’t expect?
Help me Lord, to trust the voice deep inside of me
that knows you only wish to show me the magnificent things
possible with love and trust and hope in You.
Amen. —Gretchen Crowder

Today’s Reflection: Lord, author and lover of peace,
have mercy on those suffering the despair of war,
give them hope;
turn leaders away from violence and hate into the way of peace.
