Today’s Reflection: I like to think of this reflection as current-day theology — God has no phone, but I talk to him. He has no Facebook, but he is still my friend. He does not have Twitter, but I still follow him. — Unattributed.

Today’s Reflection: A Wish for the New Year
Dear Lord, please give me…
A few friends who understand me and remain my friends;
A work to do which has real value, without which the world would be the poorer;
A mind unafraid to travel, even though the trail be not blazed;
An understanding heart;
A sense of humour;
Time for quiet, silent meditation;
A feeling of the presence of God;
The patience to wait for the coming of these things,
With the wisdom to recognize them when they come. — Author Unknown.

Today’s Reflection: I never tire of reading this: The day will come when after mastering the wind, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love. And then, for the second time in the history of the world, humanity will have discovered fire. — Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, SJ.
