Oh God, I wish from now on
to be the first to become conscious
of all that the world loves, pursues, and suffers;
I want to be the first to seek,
to sympathize and to suffer;

to become more widely human

For the lepers of our world today,
The untouched, the unloved, the rejected, scorned, and forgotten
For their needs and desires… and for hope
Be with them in a special way
Help give us the Compassion of Jesus to be welcoming, inclusive, attentive and loving to all those who cross our paths
