Today’s Reflection: Deep Listening

God of silence and God of all sound, help me to listen.
Help me to do the deep listening to the sounds of my soul,
waiting to hear your soft voice calling me deeper into you.
Give me attentive ears that begin to separate the noise from the sounds that are you;
You who have been speaking to me and through me my whole life, for so long that you can seem like background noise.
Today help me hear you anew. – Author unknown

Today’s Reflection:  There are some souls on earth

Which seek in vain for happiness,

But for me, it’s just the opposite.

Joy is in my heart.

This joy is not ephemeral.

I possess it forever.

Like the springtime rose, It smiles at me every day. — St. Therese of Lisieux, French Carmelite (1873–1897)

Today’s Reflection:

Lord Jesus, help me to recognize the needs of my brothers and sisters, and offer them whatever I can. May I be “one with the least” and stand up for the marginalized, and in doing so, serve you. Amen. —Jesuit Prayer team

Today’s Reflection: Prayer

Lord,

I can feel your passion
when I hear you speak of Your mission.

I can feel your hope
when I hear you speak of Your people.

I can feel your desire
when I hear you speak of Your Kingdom.

I hang on your every word,
breathing in all that passion, hope, and desire for this world.

I want to stay right here,
holding my breath
as I take in every word you speak.

But then I hear you say:
“Breathe out. It’s your turn now.”

Grant me the courage I need to begin.

Amen.

Today’s Reflection: Lord, I know that true peace does not come from the next purchase, but through the next encounter with You. Lead me to You in the silence, in solidarity, and in sacrament.  Help me to trust in the good You give; it may not be shiny, it might not make me popular with friends and family, but You know my true needs better than I do.  Amen. —Fr. Today’s Reflection: Prayer

Love is a one-way street. It always moves away from self in the direction of the other. Love is the ultimate gift of ourselves to others. When we stop giving, we stop loving, when we stop loving we stop growing, and unless we grow, we will never attain personal fulfillment; we will never open out to receive the life of God. It is through love we encounter God. —St. Teresa of Calcutta

Today’s Reflection:

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us. ― St. Teresa of Avila

Today’s Reflection: Prayer

God,
Help me to trust that today, you will reveal your care, compassion, and concern for me in some spectacular way: through the people around me, a “little victory,” a surprising sense of peace. And maybe more importantly, help me to pay attention throughout the day so as to notice you in that very moment – to realize that you long to be with me through thick and thin. Amen. —Joe Ertle, SJ
