Today’s Reflection: God, Grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. God, your will, not mine, be done.—from the Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr

Almighty God, We thank you for the gift of this day. Help us to never hide ourselves from you And always be open to sharing your love and gifts With the world around us. Give us the courage and grace to follow you always And to proclaim the light of the Gospels With gentleness and hope. Amen.—Brian Kemper, SJ

Today’s Reflection:Prayer for Courage to Advocate for the Poor
Dear Lord, Grant us the courage to stand up for the voiceless and advocate for the poor. Fill our hearts with compassion and our spirits with strength, so we may be bold in our efforts to bring justice and support to those in need. Help us to be instruments of Your love, shining light in the darkness of poverty. Amen. — Jesuit prayer site

Today’s Reflection: Disturb us, Lord, when We are too well pleased with ourselves, When our dreams have come true Because we have dreamed too little, When we arrived safely Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when With the abundance of things we possess We have lost our thirst For the waters of life; Having fallen in love with life, We have ceased to dream of eternity And in our efforts to build a new earth, We have allowed our vision Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, To venture on wider seas Where storms will show your mastery; Where losing sight of land, We shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back The horizons of our hopes; And to push into the future In strength, courage, hope, and love. —Attributed to Sir Francis Drake, c. 1577

God of our life, there are days when the burdens we carry chafe our shoulders and weigh us down; when the road seems dreary and endless, the skies grey and threatening; when our lives have no music in them, and our hearts are lonely, our souls have lost their courage.
Flood the path with light, turn our eyes to where the skies are full of promise; tune our hearts to brave music….quicken our spirits that we may be able to encourage the souls of all who journey with us on the road of life, to your honor and glory. — Prayer for Courage by St. Augustine
