Today’s Reflection: Easter Prayer of Saint Hippolytus

Christ is Risen: The world below lies desolate
Christ is Risen: The spirits of evil are fallen
Christ is Risen: The angels of God are rejoicing
Christ is Risen: The tombs of the dead are empty
Christ is Risen indeed from the dead,
the first of the sleepers,
Glory and power are his forever and ever. — St. Hippolytus of Rome.

Today’s Reflection: It is an old European custom to weave the palm into small crosses. The farmer and his family would walk through each of his fields placing a little cross of palm in each one. We may sanctify our own garden to Christ in the very same way. — from God In The Garden.

Today’s Reflection: Prayer
Dear Lord, please bless my eyes that I might see you and the good in another.
Let me only see the best in them and let me cast no stones nor disparage them.
Let the good deeds of another be received with an open heart, for their good works are an opportunity for them to give an account of Christ in their life.
Let me only see the best in them.
God is good all the time – and the goodness of God is eternal. Amen. — Dr. Valerie D. Lewis-Mosley, RN, OPA is a Pastoral Theologian/Spiritual Director, and an adjunct Professor of Theology. She embraces the Ignatian Examen and the Dominican Charism of Preaching to lead others to healing from the trauma of racism and injustice.

Today’s Reflection: A Prayer for Peace
How do we pray for peace from half a world away?
How can words salve and soothe real wounds,
Assuage real fears, Wipe tears from real eyes?
God of endless compassion, transform our prayers
From words into bridges, that span the distances
Between us, uniting our hearts in yours.
Every time we turn our keys in a lock,
May we remember all who are losing their homes.
Every time we step into our cars,
May we remember all who are having to flee.
Every time we embrace our children,
May we remember all who are trying to shield theirs from war.
May our besieged sisters and brothers
Be drawn into the arms of the suffering Christ,
And may our cry be heard as one voice,
Ringing out from every corner of the earth:
God of endless mercy, grant us peace.
Amen. — Cameron Bellm, a writer of prayers, poems, and devotionals.

Today’s Reflection: If, then, you are looking for the way by which you should go, take Christ, because he himself is the way. — St. Thomas Aquinas.

Today’s Reflection: This Bread Meditation is offered as food for thought:
Be gentle…when you touch bread.
Let it not lie…uncared for, unwanted.
So often…bread is taken for granted.
There is such beauty in bread;
beauty of sun and soil,
beauty of patient toil.
Wind and sun have caressed it.
Christ often blessed it.
