Today’s Reflection: Silence consists, above all, in being quiet so as to be always ready to receive something greater. Leave your analyses and the avalanche of your deductions.  Allow silence to be manifested within your interior self. — Bodmin Hermit

Today’s Reflection: Serenity Prayer (full version)

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this
sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make
all things right if I
surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely
happy with Him forever in
the next.
Amen.Reinhold Niebuhr (1926)

Today’s Reflection: God of all people,

you have given us a reliable

and caring guide,

in Jesus, our good shepherd.

May the message of his good news

help us to hear his voice

speaking to us today.

May we recognise his voice

in the cry of all those in need.

Amen. — CAFOD/Catholic prayer resource

Today’s Reflection: God uses broken things.

It takes broken soil to produce a crop,

broken clouds to give rain,

broken grain to give bread,

broken bread to give strength. — Vance Havner

Today’s Reflection: I’ll let you in on something I just recently  learned: set aside a few minutes each day to just be silent, and you will find that you instantly become a more peaceful person. Imagine Jesus saying to you (as He said to His disciples), ‘Come with me by yourself to a quiet place’ (cf. Mk 6:31). — J. Augustine Wetta from his book, Humility Rules, Saint Benedict’s 12-Step Guide to Self Esteem

Today’s Reflection: Why should we not speak of Jesus? Why should we not tell others that he gives us strength in life, that we enjoy talking with him, and that we benefit from meditating on his words —   Pope Francis
