Today’s Reflection: Morning Praye

In the storms of life, Lord,

comfort and reassure us

by your presence;

guide and steer us

by your wisdom;

hold us in the strength

of your love.

Inspire us to bring to you

all that troubles us, others,

and the world,

that we may find hope,

reconciliation, and peace.— Bill Braviner, Anglican Archdeacon of Halifax, U.K

Today’s Reflection: Prayer of Gratitude for the Beauty of Creation

God, our Creator of heaven and earth, how blessed we are to be surrounded by the beauty of your creation.
We lift our prayer of gratitude as we see the stars of heaven, and the beauty of the sunset.
We are amazed by the seas and waterways and all that are in them.
We are enchanted by the flowers and trees which are clothed by you.
We are awed by all the animals you created.
For the beauty of the earth, the mountains and valleys, the sun and the moon – we give you praise.
Amen.  Author Unknown

Today’s Reflection: What Jesus never said:

Feed the hungry only if they have papers.

Clothe the naked only if they’re from your country.

Welcome the stranger only if there’s zero risk.

Help the poor only if it’s convenient.

Love your neighbour only if they look like you. ― James Martin S.J.

Today’s Reflection: Lord,
You place people in our lives who lift us up.
We ask you to bless all those who encourage us
To follow you more closely.
And we ask that you help us
Encourage those we accompany
To know your love and your grace.
Amen. —Brian Kemper, SJ

Today’s Reflection: By welcoming a marginalized person whose body is wounded and by welcoming the sinner whose soul is wounded, we put our credibility as Christians on the line. Let us always remember the words of Saint John of the Cross: “In the evening of life, we will be judged on love alone.” ― Pope Francis, The Name of God Is Mercy

Today’s Reflection: Lord, we hold in prayer:

the sick in mind or body,

the dying,

the grieving,

those anxious for their loved ones,

those worried about the future,

those scared for their safety,

any who have lost their faith,

all in trouble or distress;

keep us safe under the shadow of your wing. — Prayer of the Church

Today’s Reflection: Lord Jesus,
You teach us in your parable (Luke 10: 25-37) that there are two kinds of people–
–those who bend down to help and those who look the other way.
Which kind of people will we be?
We say, “Yes, Lord, I will love you and love my neighbor.”
But then we ask:
The migrant… is she my neighbor?
Those in poverty…are they my neighbors?
Victims of war across the world… are they neighbors?
One who faces racism… is he my neighbor?
Those disabled or elderly… are they my neighbors?
You remind us: Yes. All of us neighbors.
Show us how to love, Lord.
May we open our eyes.
May we emerge from our comfortable isolation.
May we build a world of compassion and dignity.
Lord Jesus, who was neighbor to all,
Help us to persevere in love.
Help us to restore dignity to the suffering.
Help us to build a society based not on exclusion, but on community.
Amen. —USCCB Prayer inspired by Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis

Today’s Reflection: God, you are full of surprises. You come to us in quiet, simple ways when we are often looking elsewhere. Please help us to hear, see, and feel your presence and not discount it.

Give us the courage to listen and act by being the loving neighbors you call us to be each day. —Tom Cattapan

Today’s Reflection: Prayer

Lord,
I crave certainty. I need proof. I want evidence.
Yet, you are already here, moving in ways I cannot always see.
Help me to trust in your presence, even without evidence.
Open my heart to faith that does not need to be measured or recorded – only lived.
Amen. — Jackie Schulte
