Today’s Reflection: I have come to think that care of the soul requires a high degree of resistance to the culture around us, simply because that culture is dedicated to values that have no concern  for the soul. — Thomas Merton

Today’s Reflection: Sometimes words fail me.

They seem so clumsy,

So inadequate, too weak to get

Beyond my living room

Let alone make it through

Heaven’s doors. — Unknown

Today’s Reflection: God, I come before you today in need of hope.
There are times when I feel helpless,
There are times when I feel weak.
I pray for hope.
I need hope for a better future.
I need hope for a better life.
I need hope for love and kindness.

Help me to walk in your light and live
my life in faith and glory.
In your name, I pray,

Amen. — A Prayer for Hope, author unknown

Today’s Reflection:  A young man eagerly described what he dreamed of doing for the poor.

Said the Master, ‘When do you propose to make your dream come true?’

‘As soon as the opportunity arrives.’

‘Opportunity never arrives,’ said the Master. ‘It’s here.’ — Anthony de Mello SJ

Today’s Reflection: Repeated in response to a request –

May you practice patience, forgiveness and failing that, silence. May you ignore nonsense and provocation.  May your coffee, your resolve and your wifi be strong and may you face challenges with humour, grace and chocolate when necessary and always notice the small moments of beauty. — Bodmin Hermit

Today’s Reflection: Today, let us pause for a moment.

Today, let us embrace moments of silence.

Today, let us be present in the present.

Today, O God, may we simply be. — Unknown

Today’s Reflection:  Lord Jesus,
You have run the race before us and conquered the cross with joy.
When we grow weary, strengthen our steps.
When we feel discouraged, lift our eyes to you.
Surround us with your great cloud of witnesses,
that we may run with endurance and faith.
Let us not fear the struggles of the journey,
but press on, knowing that you are our prize,
our victory, and our guide. Amen. —Benjamin Rogers, SJ

Today’s Reflection:  Lord, bless those who serve  the sick,  the elderly and the at-risk so that they have the resources to help provide the necessary care and to do so with dignity and respect.  Lord, make a way where there may seem to be none. — Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
