Today’s Reflection: Morning Prayer

Send us into

your world, Lord Jesus,

as sowers of the seed

of your kingdom;

the seed of your peace,

the seed of your hope,

the seed of your justice,

the seed of your mercy,

the seed of your love.

Make us sow liberally

and generously,

that all may

bear fruit

in you.— Bill Braviner, Anglican priest, theologian

Today’s Reflection: once
i saw my grandmother hold out
her hand cupping a small offering
of seed to one of the wild sparrows
that frequented the bird bath she
filled with fresh water every day

she stood still
maybe stopped breathing
while the sparrow looked
at her, then the seed
then back as if he was
judging her character

he jumped into her hand
began to eat
she smiled

a woman holding
a small god

Today’s Reflection: Dear Lord,
Please help me to be a better person,
to see you in every corner of my life,
to see you in the people in the world,
to see you in the smallest flower and seed,
to see you in the mountains and valleys,
to see you in the sunset and sunrise
everywhere.
And to know that you love me. — Joan Colleran Hoxsey

Today’s Reflection: Help us, O Lord, to grasp the meaning of happy growing things, the mystery of opening bud and floating seed – that we may weave it into the tissue of our faith in life eternal. — Alfred Carl Hottes, Garden Facts and Fancies

Today’s Reflection: GARDENER’S PRAYER – Lord, bless my little plot of land, and the strength with which I’m tilling it, bless the seed I’m carefully planting and the prayers I’m sowing with it. Bless the days and shortening nights, and the hopes of my small barn.— Bodmin Hermit, a Franciscan hermit in Cornwall, England

Today’s Reflection: Tuesday afternoon I walked across a street and then a field to shoot these after spotting them out of the corner of my eye when we drove by. So glad I did, they planted the seed for this little prayer: ‘Thank you, God! So glad to be alive. Oh happy day!’
