Today’s Reflection:  A New Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity

to accept the people I cannot change,

which is pretty much everyone,

since I’m clearly not you, God.

At least not the last time I checked.

And while you’re at it, God,

please give me the courage

to change what I need to change about myself,

which is frankly a lot, since, once again,

I’m not you, which means I’m not perfect.

It’s better for me to focus on changing myself

than to worry about changing other people,

who, as you’ll no doubt remember me saying,

I can’t change anyway.

Finally, give me the wisdom to just shut up

whenever I think that I’m clearly smarter

than everyone else in the room,

that no one knows what they’re talking about except me,

or that I alone have all the answers.

Basically, God,

grant me the wisdom

to remember that I’m

not you. – Fr. James Martin SJ

Today’s Reflection:  God,
grant me the Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the Courage
to change the things I can,
and the Wisdom
to know the difference.

Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates:

Is it true?

Is it necessary?

Is it kind?  — Author unknown

Today’s Reflection: Let me seek, then, the gift of silence, … and solitude,
where everything I touch is turned into prayer:

where the sky is my prayer,
the birds are my prayer,
the wind in the trees is my prayer,
for God is all in all. —  Thomas Merton

Today’s Reflection: MORNING PRAYER –

Lord, as I begin this new day, I ask for your grace and guidance. Help me to stand strong against the discord and turmoil of the world. Grant me the strength to not be swayed by negativity. May my heart be a sanctuary of peace, untouched by the world’s anxieties.—  Bodmin Hermit

Today’s Reflection:  Way, Truth, Life

You are the way, the truth, the life
Without the way there is no going
Without the truth there is no knowing
Without the life there is no growing
Show us the way, that we may go
Teach us the truth, that we may know
Grant us the life, that we may grow
Eternally. — Rev. Theodore J. (Ted) Tracy, SJ
