Today’s Reflection: Near gleaming glass condo towers
and godless cathedrals of commerce
is found a sleeping bag sleeping space
sheltering under tree limbs subbing as a rooftop.
Affordable housing in the big city, some might say,
but this sleeping bag sleeping space’s transparency
affords a view into unconscionable homelessness,
while untouched unabated disparity widens the chasm
between haves and have-nots. Where is the social justice?
Forgive us, Lord, for this we pray.
