Today’s Reflection: To The Great Spirit

Grandfather Great Spirit,
all over the world the faces of living ones are alike.

With tenderness they have come up out of the ground.
Look upon your children that they may face the winds and walk the good road to the Day of Quiet.

Grandfather Great Spirit,
fill us with the Light.

Give us the strength to understand,
and the eyes to see.

Teach us to walk the soft earth as relatives to all that live. – Lakota prayer

Today’s Reflection:

MEDITATION

Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain.

An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind.

Climb slowly enjoying each passing moment;

However, the real journey of discovery consists not in

seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. — Bodmin Hermit post

Today’s Reflection:  Lord,

It is easy for my eyes
to see only the challenges,
the uncertainties,
and the impossibilities
this world has to offer.

Fix my sight, Lord,
so I may see instead
the certainty of Your presence
and every possibility
faith in You brings.

It is easy for my eyes
to be fixed on established views,
narrow understandings,
and perfectionistic ideals
when encountering others.

Fix my sight, Lord,
so that I see with Your eyes
the beauty and dignity
inherent in every person
You breathed into being.

Open my eyes, Lord,
so I may take in
the miracles
big and small
happening all around me.

Then, open my lips, Lord
so I may become
a joyful and constant witness
to the wonders of You. Amen. — Gretchen Crowder

Today’s Reflection: Lord, let your words not simply wash over me but move me to action. Help me to see with compassionate eyes, aid with healing hands, and teach with the truth of your salvation. —Laura Asplund

Today’s Reflection: Dear God, when I feel stuck because I can only see what’s in front of me, open my vision to a wider view. Lift my head to gaze at heaven instead of fixing my eyes on earth. Help me to look to the saints as examples of their faith in you and your will for me. Amen. —Laura Asplund

Today’s Reflection: Blessed are you, Lord God of the universe,
who give us peace to overcome our fear,
who have redeemed us from our way of being distant from you,
who have called us by name,
and who have thus claimed us as your beloved.

Open our eyes, Lord, help us to see as you;
open our hands, Lord, help us to reach out as you,
open our hearts, Lord, help us to love as you. —Fr. Glen Chun, SJ

Today’s Reflection: Morning Prayer

Open our eyes,

hearts and minds

to the intrinsic value

of each person, Lord,

for all bear your image,

all are held in your love.

Steer us away

from treating others

as objects to be used,

rather than neighbours

to be loved;

may we live

the mutuality

of your kingdom. —  Bill Braviner, Anglican Archdeacon of Halifax, UK
